    Fitz Returns with MSU

I sure hope we keep the pedal to the metal and are in the right headspace, e.g. I know Braun has said he feels indebted to Fitz for the opportunity he got at NU, and some of our senior players were Fitz’s.

After opening new Ryan Field, some reflections on how much went right since Summer 2023

Love it. I felt the same way in 2018 after we had 3 straight bowl wins and a West division championship, the new football training facilities opened and the MBB team had made the tourney. I thought NU had gotten over the hump permanently. If we didn’t have a global pandemic and if the transfer...

    Fitz Returns with MSU

For MSU as a program ND is probably their second biggest rival. NU is not really going to move the needle as much so it’ll be mostly Fitz red lettering this one. Chiles is used to playing in East Lansing as well. And whichever players are there, I suspect they don’t have ill will for him?

Um we gotta be ranked after this right?

Too many of the other teams won and hardly any of the 20-25 lost. At this point in the season it looks like somewhat of a long jam in the 20 to 30 range as teams who were extremely overrated like Michigan and PSU are making their way down while other teams with pretty good resumes like us are...

That was like our PSU game from a few years back.

    End of the Prime mystique

Although Colorado played the #12 team tough for more than a half, their new QB didn’t fare well. I wonder if this is the first non-tipped pick six that was both thrown and caught in the same end zone.

Um we gotta be ranked after this right?

Might have to take back my comment about Washington being that bad.

Um we gotta be ranked after this right?

Also #25 Missouri destroys Florida, the latest SEC top 10 entrant.

Um we gotta be ranked after this right?

Should be about equal. Washington road win decent but they’re really not good, pedestrian win over 1-3 WSU, 2 point win over Utah St. Between Mich and PSU I can’t decide who is worse than their recent baseline but we destroyed PSU all 60 minutes while they battled it out for a 1 score win. Mich...

Film Study - Wing T vs. Penn State

Imagine 4-5 years ago mired in the 120 ranked offenses, if you were told that in 2026, Chip Kelly would come in and just decide for this one game he would just ride the Wing T offense and we would just absolutely humiliate Penn State with it.

Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Penn State - New Ryan Field opening!

The turf is too fast, we couldn’t effectively burn the clock as our RBs couldn’t stop running.

Um we gotta be ranked after this right?

#25 Missouri will probably lose. #23 UCLA plays #14 Oregon though who knows on that one, UCLA has looked better than Oregon. We’ve got Wisconsin at #26 who will probably beat MSU.

Um we gotta be ranked after this right?

I do think PSU sucks but they were ranked last week and we are 3-1 with a last minute road loss to the national champion and kicked the crap out of 2 power 4 teams and well as a recent FCS national champion. And we did this on prime time network TV. Just hope we can get healthy and TCB against...

Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Penn State - New Ryan Field opening!

Looked like it filled in pretty well by second quarter then some people left at halftime due to us dominating and the late hour (for old people).
