    I don’t assume a loss versus Virginia with Mack as coach. His style of play is almost diametrically different from Pitino’s. I honestly just think Pitino’s style of play was a terrible match up with Bennett’s.

    I don’t put a ton of stock in those mock brackets. And the other 1 seeds are just so-so. I’m not worried about Kansas. I’m worried about this bunch of players we have just folding.

    No guards like Peyton, who can singlehandedly coach and play. No physical presence like Montrezl. This team is too small and soft. And they have mediocre basketball IQ. I’d be surprised and really happy with a SS. Ecstatic with EE. But FF: no chance.

    We were overrated in those preseason expectations. I felt it then. I feel it now. Mack is performing to my expectations. An Elite Eight with this roster would be outstanding.

    Again. These recruits are mediocre at level best. Yet, despite that, they’ll play in the tournament and probably win 19 games. That’s amazing given their talent.

    Excellent post. These guys are just not great players. I think they end with 20 wins, which is an incredible feat, given the talent. I feel much better about the Mack hire.

    Ultimate CHOKE job II

    This team is reaaaaaly low on native inborn talent, size, and strength. Coach Mack has squeezed several cocktails out of these stones of players. This is not a memorable bunch of kids yet they will play in the NCAA tournament and probably upset a team or two. Stop whinging.

    Pitt is no longer a total dog, so that loss is already looking less odious all the time.

    Cards take care of business in Pittsburgh and we’re probably ranked 18th. Gotta win all the winnables if you’re Louisville. No handouts at this point.

    19-12. I think it’ll probably get ugly with some close losses leading to confidence skids. But they’ll surge a bit late in the season. NIT.

    I’m actually pretty impressed with Mack’s recruiting thus far. As others have said, it looks a lot like Pitino’s.
