Guys still leaving after only one year...I mean that was my top grievance with Cal after all...though at least His Holiness isn't all about "get guys in the NBA above all else"...right?
I'm guessing Rupp in 1931-45 and 1946-59 and 1960-72 are practically three different people? If we divide UK history neatly into three parts (pre-Rupp, Rupp, post-Rupp) then the Rupp Administration would be divided somewhat neatly into thirds like so.
That's about a team, not an individual. But yeah, isn't it awesome that in KY such Hoosiers-like stories are still possible? I think Breckinridge County in 1994 or 1995 was one of the best known examples? You know, a really tiny school somehow coming out of nowhere and winning the whole thing?
I thought I'd bring this back up as I was just thinking, were any of our Rudys indeed, like that groundskeeper said, "five feet nothing", "a hundred nothing"? For a walk-on Rudy to be a grown man and less than six feet tall to play college basketball on it's biggest stage...
You know as Pitino once said in Boston, that '48 Fab Five would've been really gray and old by then (wasn't at least one dead by 1993?)! You know, the REAL Fab Five?
