Does Ashe have any playoff hopes, or are they playing for pride at this point?

Ashe played well for a quarter but then it got a bit out of hand.

Brutal loss for Ashe, gave up the winning score with just a few seconds left from what I understand.

Unfortunately it's definitely not what it used to be. Hampton gets the kids to play hard but between low numbers and people in the community just seemingly not caring anymore for whatever reason, it's just not as fun. Ashe plays a fun brand of football throwing it 25-30 times a game, but maybe...

Tomorrow should be a fun match! The ladies have certainly had two great seasons the last couple years, wish they could turn it into a state title this season.

Appreciate the Ashe/Freedom updates, didn't get to make it to the game tonight, spent the day getting vehicle work done.

Just happy to see all the teams back on the field after the last month of uncertainty around here. Ashe having such few players makes it tough on them late in games, but they really gutted that one out Friday night. I know Freedom is a well coached team, this week will be another good one I'd say.

Ashe County High School posted a full schedule of sporting events next week so appears they will be returning to action on Monday. It appears everything will be on the road with the exception of a soccer match at home on Wednesday.

Things have definitely changed in terms of how the armories are used. I believe that Watauga County and Ashe County also no longer have armories that are used. I think there's a large one in in Morganton that now is supposed to be serving a lot of these High Country counties now.

Great to hear man, glad to help! A lot of tough and resourceful people up here. We may not have a big population up here, but we have all tried to pitch in and help out as much as we can. Ashe has been home for me my entire life and I doubt I'll ever leave it.

Ashe County has had a lot of help from troops and FEMA. Can't speak for other areas, but numerous helicopter flights in and out of the hardest hit areas here with supplies, as well as humvees traveling up roads I wouldn't even walk down last week trying to help people out, it's been pretty wild...

Rich Hill Road is open and driveable. Almost all of the folks still without power live in that end of the county, several around Ed Little Road, West Mill Creek and the Clifton community which are all right near Rich Hill. A lot of that area also had significant damage to phone and internet...

No problem. I will see what I can find out and try and get in touch with them.
