The most famous person you’ve ever met….

Most significant was Reverend Joseph Lowery. Sat next to him on a flight from ATL to Memphis and we talked for the entire flight. This was maybe 25+ years ago and I still remember discussing politics, religion, Martin Luther King and a bunch more. Elliot Gould, strangest person on my list, sort...

I have not laughed that hard in quite some time.

The GNR thread made me think...

My list of Great Bands/Acts seen is long but the one I wanted to see but missed was the Rolling Stones, would have been about 73 (cue the "boomer haters") in High School and had tickets with a friend to see them in Baton Rouge. I got seriously sick the day before and still in bad shape the day...

    London….

I cannot add anything to the great suggestions for London but have been in Cambridge and York several times and highly recommend both. Both are quite walkable with lots of history and of course that rather famous educational institution in Cambridge. As for York, a late afternoon/early evening...

    Best closed clubs in Mississippi

Very limited audience for this as it goes back too many years for most but Zodiak in Mart 51 shopping center HWY 80 at Terry Road. Serious fun on a weekend night, especially if you only got in because your older brother loaned you his drivers license to get in.

Perry Cafeteria renovation - still baffled why we didn't use the existing style of architecture....

I had a New York based work colleague on campus with me a number of years ago and he was amazed at the Cafeteria, said it rated right up there with some of the best at West Point. fYI, my grandfather was president of Student association at the time Perry opened and was the first student to get...

    Bob Tyler …

When I was a student at State I had a great one on one conversation with Coach Tyler in his office one day. He was considering hiring a non-football player to work as an office assistant and "general flunky" but it did not materialize. Truly a fine person and most respectful of me, a lowly...

O.T. 40 acres of Delta Farmland for sale outside Itta Bena city limits.

I cannot remember the source but watched a video couple of er years back that said the Windmill industry was spouting about the large number of birds killed by other things like cats and other predatory animals, autos, electric line spikes, etc. The problem with that, according to the source, is...

    OT: Solar Eclipse

Seen 2 in my life and both were amazing. First one was midday, watched with a welder's arc while sitting in a hot tub with Dark Side of the Moon blasting from the outdoor speakers. The second was at our place in North Georgia where we had, again, 100% coverage. Was extremely eerie to watch and...

    OT: Does Anyone Else

Great to see Marty back on the PACK. Great album. If it were football season we could get this on SixPack magazine again.

interesting idea- nil players pay their way

At minimum, if they are getting paid to play and still getting scholarship money they should have to pay Federal and State taxes on the "value received" for tuition plus room and board. Blast away at the idea. not a "new" member, I was not able to bring my old account over.

    OT: Extending Wifi using Coax

When we built our house and shop/office 5 years ago I ran coax and cat6 underground from the house, about 250 feet away. Used powered ethernet as it seemed easier but was not satisfactory as even with surge protectors had issues. Then critters dug down and chewed the wire. Mineral oil is used in...
