    which is what I wish we would have tried to do, wait for donovan, wave off the first season. Cause look we hired Pope, first season was average anyway and 2nd season worse. So Yea i'd think UNC would be smart to go all or nothing on Billy D , i hope they don't.

    The chapel hill search isn't over... what will you say if they hire Billy Donovan? Also there are a bunch of coaches they may hire in tier 2 that are all more qualified than our Mark Pope hire. So yes, no matter which way it's spun, Mitch and our admin did a poor job in our recent coach hire...

    May won the big 10 tournament is first year and finished 2nd.. big difference 27-10 vs a 6th place finish in the SEC and no tournament success in conference and 12 losses... It's not even an Average season by kentucky standards... the only part that was average by kentucky standards was a sweet...

    agreed, we also are not considering that becoming the coach at Kentucky usually gives you a bump and the coach does better than everywhere else they have been. He would have more money for NIL, better brand, better facilities.

    Dusty May says otherwise about "rational" as well as Indiana and their 2nd year football coach winning the national title easily. Both examples also good their first years. NIL Era is different, and if you have Kentucky's bank roll to get the players you want, there are no excuses.
