    Basic business concepts would tell you to never pay back a loan early at 2.5%. It’s hilarious that someone would point that out as a poor business practice. And keep dreaming about the state of Iowa stepping in to level the playing field, not happening.

    Iowa probably would, but I doubt Cayden is coming in to compete. Commitment from any of the other PG’s would tell me that CD isn’t coming.

    Conversely, if they had left him at defense, he probably finishes the season. If Lutmer ends up being at that level, I guess it’s worth the risk but all of our running backs and wide receivers are more replaceable than Lutmer. Doll seems like a good possibility.

    I know this might be unpopular, but I would rather see somebody besides the defensive backs returning punts and kickoffs. Especially ones that are important as Lutmer.

    Best post I’ve seen on my thoughts on it. While we don’t have a deep well of mega donors, I’m guessing there’s enough money out there sitting on the sidelines that could get one player like this if it’s that close. And with the success that Ben had already, I think he can catch that ticket in.

    Did you know Iowa is ranked 11th in win percentage for P4 conference teams? Did you know that all 10 teams ranked above them have made a playoff? Quit acting like it’s some unachievable mission.

    Absolutely agree with this viewpoint. Like it or not, the HC position for most schools now is a sales/fund raising job now more than ever. If you’re in the position to land a prospect of this caliber, you have to do it.

    Correct. That’s why recruiting is a zero sum game. If they don’t land one of their primary PG targets I’ll be concerned. But some fans would glaze it as “it’s just an honor to be considered, eventually, he will land one” lol. Fran never did.

    Makes sense. Their payday got moved up by four years and in a greater multitude. College is no longer the next step for getting paid, it can be set up to never have to work again if you manage it all right and you don’t even have to be an elite prospect.

    Depends if they can find their alpha right out of the gate or not. I’m hoping Cooper is ready for that step. If they do this team has a chance to be really dangerous.
