I still think some advantages can be minimalized by teams not having as many nights in a hotel. 17 year old kids seem to do better having stayed the night in their own bed.
Just a reminder that if District A is Class B and has no busing, District B in the same county has busing but mainly serves in town, and district C is a D school that only serves country kids over a wide area that has busing you are not comparing the same things. There are too many variables...
You also could have a student in District A that drives 15 miles to school on country roads. Now District A consolidates with District B which is only 13 miles farther. That student now drives 28 miles each way and he/she wishes to participate in multiple activities. That time adds up.
