    We need 2-3 studs and a supporting cast. We have zero studs and a supporting class. This is arguably worse than last year even after the injuries. We had one player (Oweh) you could argue was a stud in the last third of the season.

    I agree if Pope can’t land a Kentucky kid who has a Nike contract then he just needs to resign. Literally the only positive is we could be so bad he gets fired mid season to give Donovan more time to prepare for the following season.

    Feels like the program is dead.

    Not dead, but on life support. It will take a coaching hire like the previous hires of Pitino and Cal to reinvigorate the program. At this point, whiff on Stokes go 16-16 and fire Pope. Hope Donovan takes a year off and go get him at any cost.

    Everyone rags on Scheyer, but every single one of us would take Scheyer over Pope in a heartbeat. Duke has a chance to win a championship every year. They were one fluke play away from a Final Four. They were one of the only teams to beat the eventual national champion Michigan.

    I would take the $15 million and buy out Pope and go get Donovan. Donovan is not the perfect choice, but light years better than Pope. We just can't get the absolute homeruns of Hurley, Lloyd, or May. The only way you take option 1 is if you believe Pope can win a championship with that team...

    We have played most of our good cards at this point. Only hope is a last ditch effort to sign Stokes and overpay for one more stud like Momcilivic or Miuuren. Both of those happening are looking increasingly unlikely at this point
