I was at that Opening Day game when McSherry died. We had nosebleed seats so it took a while to understand what was going on. I believe that was also the day of the UK/Syracuse national championship game. What a day.

IIRC, Reds were always on in Louisville - Ch 41 I believe. Cardinals were not.

Estimated $ spent on transfers for 25-26 season

Not having U of L on that list is a dead giveaway that this is inaccurate. No way they got those three portal pickups without spending big money.

I love music but don't understand the appeal of vinyl unless you just want to collect and display it. You can pay $10/month to listen to basically all of history's important recorded output. Or you can pay $25 for a vinyl copy of DSOTM or whatever classic album.

Ok. Kelsey officially killing it at UL-McKneely commits

Man, they are going to have a great three point shooting team. Not sure about their inside players, but will certainly be able to spread the floor and shoot.

Rank Coach Mark Pope’s 1st year vs our other coaches 1st years (the seasons you experienced)

Basically all these coaches were really successful in their first year. Even BCG won SEC coach of the year his first season! Having said that, OBVIOUSLY Tubby has to be number 1 on any list; Tubby Pitino Cal Pope BCG Sutton

    Adrian Wooley to Louisville

The ranking I saw had him as a top 5 player in the portal. Certainly not "dime a dozen".

    Buzz Williams to Maryland?

Maryland is historically a much better job than Texas A&M so maybe that is what is playing into this. But its hard to see how that is true anymore. But then again I don't really understand Willard leaving Maryland for Villanova. The advantages of being in the SEC or Big 10 at this juncture...

Wagner For The Tie - - Clank!

DJ taking over the point is different from DJ playing hero ball. Just because he has the ball in his hand doesn't mean he has to take the shot.

Those two games came down to three point shooting. UK shot 12-24 in both games. UT shot 3-18 at Rupp, and 11-45 at UT.

I live in Florida and started going to FAU basketball games about 10 years ago with my young son. It is the closest school near where we live and we had fun even thought the team was not very good then. Certainly not live and die, but the school is small enough where we were able to get to...

I don’t see how you can say that Auburn played their A game because Denver Jones is one of their best players and he missed most of the game. And Broome is supposed to be one of the best players in the country and he looked awful for most of the game. I think they can play a lot better which...

    Richie Farmer-Trent Noah

Richie Farmer was a great high school basketball player and more athletic than you think. I believe he jumped center. I think high school basketball was bigger back then than it is now so his accomplishments just seem greater than Perry or Noah (despite their numbers). But maybe I'm just...

    So Glad Hurley ain’t here

Cal was that arrogant, though, and fans loved it. This board particularly eats up the most over the top antics. Posters here loved even Billy Gillispie when he was mean to that sideline reporter. I think Hurley would have been adored.

Is Pope the best x and o's coach we have had?

Pitino was innovative with his presses and three point offense. And he is still successful 40 years later when everyone shoots threes and teams are used to being pressed. Pitino is a great X’s and O’s coach. It is dumb to even compare Pope to him at this point.
