Mets sweep a three game series in which they trailed by multiple runs in each game. In their 65 year history, that has only happened three times.

MLB Prospects updated their Top 100 Prospects list. A.J. Ewing has soared up to #34, narrowly edging out Johan Tong at #36. No other Mets made the Top 100. Nolan McLean and Carson Benge have graduated.

To call Alvarez an underachiever, reminds me of the Henny Youngman one-liner when asked "How's your wife?" His response: "Compared to what?" Compared to his one-time #1 prospect ranking, yeah definitely an underachiever. But that is now ancient history. The more relevant comparison is the...

He's in AA Binghamton, hitting .179 with a .501 OPS and meh defense. He's gone from prospect to organizational depth guy. Maybe not even that.

Alvarez somehow hurt his knee while swinging the bat. MRI today. After it happened, Senger was immediately pulled from the game in Syracuse, which is not a good sign.

I think that is a fair comparison. Another difference is defensive ability. Ewing is very good, but Crow-Armstrong is on a whole different level.

Here is the Cohen quote from February which prompted the speculation: "Table stakes is making the playoffs - you've got to make the playoffs. I missed the playoffs last year. Missing two years in a row, that's not good." Taking that quote literally, the speculation that Stearns is on the hot...

25 years ago in 2001, the Mets received a compensatory draft pick for losing Mike Hampton in free agency. They drafted a high school kid named David Wright. They brought him up three years later at age 21. He hit the ground running, and the rest is history. 22 years later in 2023, the Mets...

For those unfamiliar, Ewing is a lefty hitter. He is listed as 2B/OF but he's been mostly playing OF, primarily CF. Here's his scouting report on the 20-80 scale, where 50 is MLB average: HIT: 55 SPEED: 70 POWER: 40 ARM: 50 FIELD: 60 OVERALL: 55 So... we now have an all lefty hitting outfield...

Wow. I do not like this move. This is a kid who has less than 60 games experience in AA and AAA combined. A year ago at this time, he had just been promoted to Brooklyn from St Lucie. What's the rush? That was a rhetorical question. We all know what the rush is. In a word, desperation. If the...

While I understand your enthusiasm, there is no need for Stearns to re-sign yet. He is still under contract for a couple of years.

If you've turned from a die-hard to completely apathetic in less than one full season, let's just say that you and I differ on the definition of die-hard. As far as attachment to the players, did you have any attachment to Yoenis Cespedes when the Mets acquired him in 2015? I am guessing no...
