    Gotta love Bob. Nothing like playing the defending 7A, 6A, 4A state champs in Illinois - as well as Rita and Naz. And then deciding to go play arguably the best team in Indiana and a fringe top 100 team nationally according to Maxpreps for the opener. SF ain’t afraid to play anyone that’s for sure.

    No disrespect to Wilmington at all it’s an incredible program but given the size / playoff class difference I could understand why they may not want to play JCA in the non-conference.

    The one positive with the new playoff rules is it doesn’t punish a team like SF or JCA playing each other week 1 as the fight for 5 is no longer. Would love to see that be the opener this year.

    Despite the softer week 2 game they still have: 7A state champ (Rice) 7A runner-up (Rita) 6A state champ (Fenwick) 6A semifinalist (Naz) 4A state champ (Montini) schedule is ridiculously hard again this year.

    Agree. They also did gain some really good players as well…. Phillip, Williams, Liner, Marshall. All 4 of those kids were impact guys in their title run.

    Could also say Rittenhouse for SF. That 2020 team had a very real shot at winning it all before Covid screwed everything up. 3x all-area, 2x conference player of the year at St. Francis and playing in the FCS title game tomorrow night.

    It was the correct call. Phillip was outside the tackle box therefore he has no obligation to throw it to a receiver in the area. As long as he is outside the tackle box + gets it across the line of scrimmage it is a legal play. Regardless - what a great game from both teams. Happy for McMillen...

    It looks like Bloomington Normal is only forecasted to get 2 inches of snow now. Hindsight is 20/20 but it absolutely could have been played today based on current projections with minimal disruption. I do think the “fear porn” a lot of weather outlets are putting out these days 100% factored...
