    Gotcha...ya it had been evolving minute by minute yesterday so apologies for me feeding into the speculation myself. I did hear on XM radio on my drive home last night about there was some awareness of this which begs the question why did not act sooner?

    There was an anonymous tip that can in the last 24-48 hours so I would not believe the "known for the past few weeks." Their goal of having someone in place by Jan 2nd also wouldn't support that premise.

    Just a guess but those states that banned it is probably because it had become a problem. Those states that didn't is likely due to it never being an issue or something would think to do. Basically, you don't ban something if it's never an issue.

    A few random thoughts... I believed this before and believe it even more now--a bad AD can ruin a football program for longer/faster than a bad coach. Look at Nebraska (Solich to Callahan), Tennessee (2009-2020), Michigan (RRod), etc. Honestly, if you are typing "if" near the name "Deboer"...

    Ummm, he was drafted by Pittsburgh and yes, he stayed his whole career but that's not the same as recruiting HS guys.

    Super--I feel better that he's likable and a nice guy. That will win games. You can be the best coach in the world but if you ain't got the talent then you are an also-ran. Recruiting is going to nose-dive and I'm not even including this year's class.

    That per year amount seems way too high to be believable. Franklin was at $8-9 mill / year? Sitake is making in the range of $3-4 mill/year. Why the need to go to $11 mill? Either the info is wrong (hopefully) or Kraft has lost his damn mind.

    I am going to say it.....

    I am no fan of Tomlin (quite the opposite) but I think in his first few years, assuming the collective/NIL was in the right place, he'd kill it at recruiting and getting transfers. And if that were the case, I think he could out-talent enough teams to be 8-4, 9-3 but eventually all the issues...
