Alvarado also wasn't as good as Myles Powell in college.

But we already had one of those a few years back, remember, lol?

Same for the type of first year player we typically get under Sha.

    Meet the team

That's good news, it's what everyone wants for all our players. Me and Fishjam simply pointed out in response to other posts that we aren't ready to declare him Myles Powell. I think there is a pretty big world between those two things, don't you?

    Meet the team

Good thing to know I'm not alone on an island in thinking a top 100-150ish recruit I've never seen play will probably not end up as good as the second best Pirate I've seen in my lifetime.

NJ directs $5 million of NJ tax dollars to Rutgers NIL

And I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the case for a program like UCONN as an example. I know most here don’t care or obsess about their NIL stuff compared to others, but it’s the advantage they’ve always had being a large state school with football even though football has less importance to the...

NJ directs $5 million of NJ tax dollars to Rutgers NIL

My guess is this is common among all or most big state schools. And if there isn’t a specific allotment to NIL, there is some way one can maneuver state funding and donor money in a manner that has the same functional effect. And the justification for it is not going to be altogether different...

    Here's your TBT roster

Given his seeming over-focus on SHU, my guess is not that much hoops-wise. Definitely some Trip McNeeley stuff going on there. btw anyone who is on the fence this tourney is 1000% worth watching. I’ve seen some in the past and the games can be pretty competitive. Plus now you have some of our...

    Meet the team

He’s had plenty of chances to shine. But so many times we’ve seen talented kids make a leap as seniors, because older players are, well, old. Which is why everyone wants them. I’m banking on Wilcher doing so here as much as I’m not banking on “Payday” being the next Myles Powell.

My new 2026-27 Big East projections

They've been great in the OOC the last two years despite playing a monster schedule. It is the Big East where they've gotten beat at times, but even last year they were historically dominant along with SJU. It's just that SJU has gotten the better of them the last 2 years pretty consistently.

My new 2026-27 Big East projections

You can bank on Hurley as Uconn will again have the best roster on paper IMO. You can bank on Pitino because 40+ years tells us that he could coach 5 guys off the street to a decent record, and they have talent even with the Freeman injury. At this point, I think you can pretty much bank on...

    6 year extension?

Yes agents play a role, and from what everyone seems to say, these particular agents are worse than their professional counterparts. But an agent can't force a player or family to do anything they don't want to do.

    6 year extension?

Think most acknowledge it’s a significant issue. But the “resource” disparity has been around forever. The schools getting top players are the ones who usually did so in the past. Think Calhoun didn’t have much better “resources” once he built up UConn in the early 90s and thereafter? He’s...
