No. 13 Men’s Lacrosse Heads to Michigan

Not for nothing, but Michigan’s offense operated how I EXPECTED ours to operate under Bieda, with constant motion and scheming guys open for open looks. All I’m seeing from our team is high screens and iso ball — same offense we saw pre Bieda.

Can’t sugarcoat this performance. Absolute dog crap and ends any hope of an at-large bid. Will now have to win the conference tournament.

I would view 5 out of 14 a near disaster on FOs, especially the way Michigan is operating on offense. They got a TON of good looks, hit the post three times, and missed about three dunks or close in shots. They could easily be ahead right now. We need to go 50-50 on FOs in the 2nd half.

6-5 and Michigan has momentum. Our defense looks confused by the constant screen action. Michigan getting open looks from the confusion.

Michigan defense playing really well, not giving us any open looks over the past 10-12 minutes. We really needed that goal by Zeller, but it was due to individual effort on a roll dodge and fought through three defenders to score. Bieda needs to draw up stuff to get us some open looks.

Attackman Haydn Sommer out today. So both of our primary X guys (Murphy and Sommer) are out. Colin Kelly gets the start up front. Kasey Mongillo with two early goals, and Rutgers is up 2-0! We’ve won 2 of 3 FOs with Desmarais.

Baseball Set for Road Series at Indiana

It’s everything. The starting pitching has been terrible. We’re lucky if our starter lasts 4 innings, and forget about pitching into the 6th or 7th inning. This puts a strain on our already depleted — due to season ending TJ surgeries for a bunch of our key relievers — bullpen, and those guys...

I’m assuming Scarelli is out, but luckily Michigan doesn’t have a dominant FOGO. Their season average, mostly using two guys with a third guy sprinkled in, is 50.8%. We’ll be fine if Desmarais and Rainero can combine for about 45-50%. We just can’t have them only winning 35-40% or worse.

Olympic Sports Rutgers Gymnastics is Set for NCAA Regionals

Rutgers with a solid effort on bars, but Ohio State killed it on vault and edged ahead of Rutgers into 2nd place after three rotations. Oklahoma 148.400 OSU 147.700 Rutgers 147.500 Kentucky 147.025 Rutgers will have to win this on beam (our weakest event). OSU will be on bars.
