    I wonder if this will become a Pardue staple?The mid season head scratcher. Holt couldn’t win the big one in the playoffs. Johnson’s teams took 5 games to get rolling. Grinton couldn’t beat anyone with a pulse. Pardue might have the mid season game that leaves you thinking “what the heck was that?”

    Even the winner will go winless the rest of the season. This is likely each teams last opportunity to win a football game. I get a small school like Elkin will have talent and numbers deficiencies, but Ashe has no business being as bad as they are.

    100% agree. Starmount struggled last year with sustaining a drive. Last Friday looked to be the same. They will need to figure out how to score points without a 50+ yard pass.

    I feel like East Wilkes is being a little overlooked. Obviously Starmount is the favorite with all they return, but I think East could be really dangerous and possibly a top 5 team in the state. Alleghany will probably still be gritty and tough as nails. Win or lose whoever they play better...

    Sure. When the 1a /1aa split happened and Elkin went on a run in the early 2000s, I saw a t-shirt after Elkin's 2002 win that said "congratulations on being the 3rd best team in your conference."
