The Colorado PI granting eligibility to all Class of '22 members has been stayed

I've been trying to figure out why they are taking a stand here. As I have said, I think they were going to get sued regardless of how they timed the implementation of the new rule, but this particular timing seems weird. I seriously wonder if this is tied to trying to pass the Protect...

The Colorado PI granting eligibility to all Class of '22 members has been stayed

There are probably pending state court cases they are eligible to join, or cases being prepared right now that could include them as plaintiffs. Their lawyers just need to make a few calls.

The Colorado PI granting eligibility to all Class of '22 members has been stayed

"Screwed over" is a harsh term. They got exactly what they were promised: 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility. My bigger fear is what msudawg1200 said. The NCAA has to be able to set eligibility limits, since thats what distinguishes it from the NFL. The Colorado judge didn't...

The Colorado PI granting eligibility to all Class of '22 members has been stayed

Brandon Sneh is still eligible for now. He was declared eligible by a Texas State Court. The Plaintiffs' attorneys wised up after the Colorado Federal case, and these State judges are not only granting eligibility, they are also ordering a transfer portal, and preventing the NCAA from taking...

The Colorado PI granting eligibility to all Class of '22 members has been stayed

As Tom Mars predicted, the Tenth Circuit does not like Preliminary injunctions. They have stayed the Colorado DC injunction pending appeal. This means the sweeping grant of eligibility to all players in the class of '22 is no longer applicable. It does not affect the many state court cases...

    Pat McAfee

The problem is you can find the stuff you want to see online, any time you want. ESPN has to provide something unique to attract viewers. Throughout the 90s and into the 2000's, ESPN taped an hour long Sportscenter at 5 or 6 AM, and ran that show on repeat until 10. That, plus maybe a morning...

And here it is: Players who signed NFL contracts and even played in preseason games are coming back and entering a new transfer portal

https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/an-nfl-player-lsu-and-a-legal-loophole-college-footballs-bizarre-eligibility-fight-is-getting-wild-004046214.html The article is just bizarre to read. The case is from Baton Rouge, and it seems most of the players would suit up for LSU. There...

College endorsements more lucrative than NFL? Article:

When the House settlement negotiations first went public, someone from a marketing firm said the college players might be surprised by the low demand for their services. Anyone below mega star status would be hard pressed to find endorsement deals. But, once the CSC was forced to cave in and...

This is so sad and tragic. And preventable…

Fair question, and something I've never thought about These days the group rides I join are really big. Like over 30. If I was riding with just 10 I would really consider the traffic on the route. Again, Im not saying the cyclists did anything wrong in this matter, just what my preferences are.

This is so sad and tragic. And preventable…

Mountain bike trails and forest service roads, and there are plenty in that area. I'm an avid cyclist. I am well aware of the different training you get from a road bike vs. a mountain trail, but they are similar enough that cross training is effective. I'm not saying they shouldn't have been...

You are in control of our NIL budget of $52 million...

You're not wrong, but the going rate for quality basketball players has apparently become substantially higher than the rate for football players, particularly in the SEC. I've posted the same NY Times article at least three times on the board. After talking to anonymous SEC coaches, they...

We asked Football NIL budget - what do you think our overall NIL budget is for the athletic department?

Probably needs to be much higher. A recent NY TIMES article (linked, but might have a paywall) estimated the average cost of an SEC basketball roster this year is $18 MM. This was based on interviews with anonymous SEC coaches, and they probably meant median instead of average, but even a $10...

How did you learn how to swim…?

I took lessons two summers in a row when I was very young. They didn't take. When I was in the 3rd grade, the only way I could play with my friends at the Y was to swim with them in the deep end. So I started swimming. I guess I remembered a little of those lessons.

Do you give to State Excellence Fund(SEF) or subscribe to State 1878?

Where did I say anything about what State spent on its roster? My only point was that a lot of schools are already spending more than would be allowed under the pending legislation.
