Wasn't Karine Jean Pierre on the board before? Pretty sure she has zero experience in arts as well. Those board positions are usually handed off to folks that are likely to be able to promote the Center or wrangle in some top dollar donations. They don't truly care if any of the board members...
If these jobs were redundant and/or extremely inefficient wouldn't it be financially prudent for the government to cut the excess or to consolidate roles to streamline processes and reduce the waste of taxpayer funds?
The interview I saw mentioned this specifically and the guy said that although the official orders were issued closer to his retirement date it was well known that the deployment was coming down the pike for several months before he actually retired. Which is why Walz had time to go around him...

Isn't the primary guy that brought to light that Walz knew he was getting deployed before he retired was Walz's actual commanding officer? Seems like the guy would be a pretty good source...
