    UNC Gymnastics 2026-2027

It’s on Instagram - and every time I try to embed Instagram in here it goes horribly wrong lol. Plus not sure it works with stories. Someone more capable, can you answer?

    UNC Gymnastics 2026-2027

The first training footage of the year is up! Just floor and bars. Here are the main takeaways: Elly King is back tumbling after missing the back half of last season If you remember Paige Prejean's insanely high Tkachev release on bars, Jillian Fisher's is a very worthy successor JoJo...

https://www.instagram.com/madisontaips2027/p/DdMgpUDlE45/ Madison is our third commit from the high school class of 2027. We still have anywhere from 2-7 roster slots available next year, depending on what our five seniors do.

We don't know. This program is particularly opaque about injuries. And to be honest, we don't even know that it *was* an injury -- she's a beam specialist and it's possible she just wasn't cracking the top 6 on beam until the end of the season. There was no visible indicator of injury (boot...

The Landscape of NCAA Olympic Sports

My read of your second link is that this is clearly limited to football and basketball. Which makes sense, because “professional” in some of these other sports is very murky. Edit: the intent is more clear when you compare the SEC's original statement (clear as mud) to the revised one that...

    UNC Gymnastics 2026-2027

UNC gymnastics posted photos and video from its fall evaluation on Instagram. Notable is that Regan McBride is pictured in a boot and using a scooter. In gymnastics that usually means Achilles, but could be something else of course. Something to watch as the season draws closer.

And FWIW two of our five recent grads in gymnastics already had a fifth year they chose not to use before this all went down. A third is off to law school, and IDK what the other two are up to but they have definitively retired. We have sixteen athletes against a roster max of 20.

The TRO came out less than a month ago, and rising fifth years who were not already in the portal (a la Seth Trimble) could only take a fifth year at the university they competed for the year before, and only if there was room on the roster. I suspect that during that three week period, very...

    Wrestling 2026-2027

Lol I can’t believe I can possibly add value on the wrestling thread. ALLEGEDLY a huge part of why Iowa State cut women’s gymnastics was so that they had more money to put into men’s/women’s wrestling. So maybe they’ll make better hires with more money?

The Landscape of NCAA Olympic Sports

One of today's clarifications issued by the judge is that this preliminary injunction does not supersede the existing transfer rules. So if an athlete wasn't already in the portal and the portal isn't open for them (no coaching change, etc.), they have to claim their fifth year at the same...

The Landscape of NCAA Olympic Sports

Try reading the post again because I said the opposite of what you thought (also, I'm a sister) :) I'd take the freshman in all scenarios, even when the fifth year was the superstar. Because this is a preliminary injunction, it would be wildly irresponsible for a coach to dump a freshman for a...
