    I don't know anything about coaching (certainly no more than any other armchair coach / QB), but he has been at both Buffalo and Utah, both of which seemingly are very well run programs. Smart well run programs generally lead to smart well running employees / coaches.

    Had we won the KY game I would feel totally different about this season. Although the loss to LSU doesn't look bad now we should have won that game too. I should be happy with 8-4 but, for me, those two games (esp the KY game) make this a very frustrating season. Looking back on the season...

    It is my hope that we see progress and growth. Not expecting a lot out of this season, but looking for good building blocks. Jans seems to be a good fit, but I have been a State fan long enough to have seen a lot of "good fits", so I will wait and see.

    Valid point about the SWAC, however the level of talent he is bringing in at a SWAC school with nothing to offer facility and budget wise is really unbelievable. Makes you wonder what he could do with good facilities and a bigger budget?

    My point is, his highlights are easy to find (Google / youtube), 17-18 year old kids aren't likely watching football the same way you and I do. You don't have to agree, but I believe he still has a lot of star power.

    It's one in the same, bigger personal brand = more NIL / advertising money. Many of these kids, especially the social media savvy ones are using their platform as leverage.

    10-15 years ago I would have agreed, but today his highlights are everywhere and very easy to find. There are very few athletes who once they retire have lasting star power, but he is one of them. Also the reach of Barstool adds even more star power.

    I agree, (although it will likely never happen) we have to have a major shift. There is no one who knows branding better than Deion, and recruits are all about brand, weather its personal brand or team brand. Heck he has made JSU cool, I bet their merchandise sales are insane right now.

    You really don't know what someone else is going through. Just really sad to think about how much pain he must have been in, and now the pain his family is in. Prayers for comfort and peace.
