1. Most schools in the east offer weight lifting as a class during the school day. Depending upon the school and administration, working out some kinks for all the kids that take college classes off campus and/or of a coach wants all he football guy in one specific...
Duplin county also had 3 teams (75%) in the third round. Most likely would have been 100% if Wallace Rose Hill and James Kenan had not played in the 2nd round.
Something that I also think has hurt attendance along with the playoff prices is NFHS. Instead of going to the game, sitting in the cold, making sure you have a good sit, waiting 10 minutes at the concession stand etc you can turn on your computer and/or stream it to your TV, sit in a warm...
Definitely can have a bye and only play 9 games. Only draw back I see to that is only having 4 home games might be a financial hit to most schools budgets.
Instead of college stadiums go to the Charlotte and play where the Panthers play. If you did college stadiums, I would perfer Campbell, Elon, A&T, Lenoir Rhyne etc. Obviously there are logistical issues with any and all of these.
Remember this would also be the classifications for all sports so you would not want a top 32 only encompassing the entire state. SWO to Pisgah for 1st round volleyball or tennis would be brutal.
