    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

Sure they planned well, and that is why they borrowed $50M and then refinanced to extend the loan…..because they were strong fiscally. LOL! You can just stop while you are behind. Common sense puts me over my “skies”. Sure thing kid.

    Iowa -11.5 vs Iowa State

Low light hawk fans say this every year. It seems to be the only coping mechanism available after consecutive 54 yard daggers.

    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

The U of I is state owned and taxpayer funded.

    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

Not at a state owned entity. Capital projects are obviously addressed with debt financing, not athletic department operational needs. Iowa borrowed $50M from taxpayers to keep the lights on, and now has basically refinanced and extended the debt because of an apparent inability to service the debt.

    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

Not surprising that a hawk fan would surmise that, sport. Hawk fans have never been accused of being the brightest bulbs.

    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

So you believe ISU burned through reserves, sport? ISU AD is fiscally responsible. We aren’t being drawn into constant litigation because of questionable practices in our athletic department. Btw, if that covid debt was so cheap then why is it being extended by 15 years. For an athletic...

    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

You already know the answer, sport. Did ISU Athletic Dept borrow any funds to meet budget? In fact, ISU had a $50M surplus. If you don’t understand the basics, go read up.

    Iowa -11.5 vs Iowa State

Yep, they sure are spiraling. LOL!

    Desperate ISU turning to socialism

Nobody ever accused hawk fans of being the brightest bulbs. Understanding basic business concepts is key. Oh, and eventually the state will even out the taxpayer support it provides Iowa and ISU since significantly more Iowa residents attend ISU.

Mega conferences or more smaller conferences?

If you believe that Iowa’s market includes OH, PA, NJ, MI, CA, you are being naive. There is reason to believe that some of Illinois is hawk market, but not the others. Just because Iowa is in the B10 doesn’t mean those markets belong to the Hawks. That is like declaring DFW & Houston markets...

Mega conferences or more smaller conferences?

You are so naive, but fans typically are.

Mega conferences or more smaller conferences?

You wouldn’t grasp the difference so I won’t attempt to explain it. Fans come and go.

Mega conferences or more smaller conferences?

Not a clone fan so you are off base. The market for the hawks is small and always will be regardless of the process you use to convince yourselves otherwise.

Mega conferences or more smaller conferences?

This simply isn’t the case anymore, and with Iowa being a small market team the risk is much greater if they don’t pass the Scores Act. Hawkeye fans seem to think that being in the B10 insulates them for the future. If plain market economics continues to drive the carriers and big brands, the...

Should Iowa extend the series with ISU?

Absolutely not….get rid of this series as it has run its course. There is going to be a fairly seismic shift coming in 5 or 6 years and most of the P4 conferences are going to be reorganized, including small market teams in the higher revenue conferences.
