Who will opt out of the bowl game?

Just my thoughts, but i could hardly disagree more. I thought Jacobs was outstanding all year, & played beyond what I thought would be his ceiling. And while Carter is certainly the better LB, there were times that he clearly overran plays, made bad reads, etc. I rarely noticed negative plays by...

Former Penn State football defensive end Matthew Rice dies at 41

Years ago I bought one of his pieces as a gift for my Dad. I got a v/m from someone to confirm the delivery address. When I returned the call, Matt was the one who picked up the phone. He shared stories about his playing days and his current work. We were on the phone at least 15 minutes. If he...

    Lance Reddick, R.I.P.

He was outstanding in The Wire. Like many of his castmates, he's gone way too soon. My wife had never seen it before, so I started re-watching it w/ her around Xmas. We just finished season 4. You could easily argue that it was the best season of any TV show ever

Basketball and Football: PSU vs Indiana 1993

I was in Rec Hall that night. The bogus call went against Greg Bartrum iirc

    Scott Rolen, Hall of Famer…

The Hall of Very Good I wouldn't have voted for any candidate this year. If forced, I'd have voted for Helton and Jones before Rolen

The biggest loss we had was losing L.J. Sr as a Defensive Line Coach

In my opinion, and to my surprise, I thought the perfornance level didn't drop at all under Spencer. The first year or two you might argue that he was doing it with LJ's players. But Chaos was here for 5 seasons iirc Things are noticeably different since then

Guitar Solo Jukebox - Best Solos of all time

Geez impossible to say. Of the cuff, Richard Thompson, live version of "Shoot Out the Lights", at the Bottom Line, ca. 1981. Ask me in 5 min's, & I'll probably have a different answer

Once again, a player injuries himself while celebrating.

I don't know the game scenario, so can't comment on it But even if it was a routine 2nd and 8 play in the early 2nd quarter, it was an extremely mild example of "celebrating". I'm always happy to call out showboating/bad sportsmanship. This didn't nearly rise to that level

SIAP: True frosh who played vs. Purdue

I guess I missed seeing Durant out. Did anyone notice him, for good or bad?

Penn State All Time Defense - first two teams...

Exactly. I quit reading when Jimmy K got the starting nod over Reid and Bruce Clark. No offense to Jimmy, but that is clearly one uninformed opinion writer

RIP David McCullough, wow, what an impact he had.

Maybe the poster was confusing him with David Halberstam? Both amazing writers, though only DH was gone too soon (I mean, I loved DM, but it's hard to complain when you get 89 turns around the sun)
