Before this thread goes to page two, it might be helpful to point out that his name is Chiles, not Childs.

    Why bowl games matter

I’m very proud of the players who didn’t opt out, and chose to end the season with a legitimate Big Ten style win. That is team-first behavior. The Cats looked better than their assigned bowl slot, which is a real compliment to Northwestern’s play.

    We are getting Chip Kelly!

Don’t overlook the lifestyle appeal of the NU job. Braun continued the Fitz legacy of making sure the staff can go home and see their families. Contrast that with the experience of working for a coach like Bill Snyder, who might call you with a demanding question at 11 PM on a Sunday night...

    Football budgets/ financial literacy

Schools outside of the P4 are getting creative. I’m impressed by Tulsa’s idea. It is a long shot, but it could pay off well. Can you imagine this degree of transparency at Northwestern? Watch portal operations live!

    Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Illinois

Well, that’s not how you “win Big Ten Championships.” Get to work, coach.

That is how you not only qualify for a bowl bid, but make the case you deserve one. Terrifically fun game. Go Cats!

POLL: Who should NU hire to replace Braun after the season?

I’m pretty sure Anon was poking fun at ECat. I don’t think any sentient being would find a Northwestern playoff appearance disastrous. Closer to miraculous.

This will make two consecutive big ten games the Cats won sort of ugly. That‘s a very positive sign.

It feels like the Cats aren’t playing with the same aggression. This is where complacency is the enemy.

Stone is THE MAN. Sorry for any negative comments early in the season.

Penn State went into the game at #15 in opponent passing yards allowed. Give the Lions’ secondary some credit when evaluating Stone’s performance. (For all the marvel of the train wreck which has taken place since, PSU did take Oregon to overtime.) After playing NU, they remain at #15. That...

    Purdue

Rushing yards per game is another interesting team statistic: Though the run-first service academies are the leaders, Indiana is ninth in the country in rushing. In the next tier, USC comes in at #16, while Michigan stands at #19 and Oregon at #21. Then there is a drop to #37 Washington, #43...

I think this is the mismatch that will determine the outcome: Points per Game NU 105th Purdue 72nd Opponent Points per Game NU 26th Purdue 103rd The Wildcat defense needs to deliver.
