Terrible idea?
Shift Singleton to center, martinelli to pf, and then play two wings at once Green at sf, kj at sg…I’m concerned that Kropp as backup isn’t going to cut it, and Page might run into physical centers that are foul magnets.
I think depending on the B1G they could be middle of the pack. Fletcher Loyer is average and Kaufman-Renn disappears for spurts. Do they have a highly skilled 7’4” guy who doesn’t miss free throws?
This is without Jayden Reid. He is supposed to be a nice upgrade over Clayton. I can tell you that B1G teams are going to want to face NU earlier than later. They had some good stretches of D yesterday and that will get better as they play together more.
The Stone Wilde connect is excellent. Even with PSU's best corner on him and knowing that they wanted to throw the slant - they still were able to complete the pass for the 1st on the second to last drive. (he actually completed the slant twice but somehow Wilde dropped the DIME the first time)
My sense is that when those in the know say "NU will be better than what pundits expect," what they mean is that they will be competitive in games not necessarily end up better than .500.
The unfortunate truth is that OUR positives are everyone's positives. There isn't a team in the BIG that...
The highlights show some rough/weak competition, below the rim play, and an unwillingness to go to his left - it also showed a nice jump shot and a willingness to stick his nose into a crowded lane.
Not sure Im seeing those stats in a B1G game but would love to be wrong.
I always thought that Collins helped get Scheyer the job. Collins tried to hire him to be his top assistant and I thought he said yes but then quietly returned to the bench at Duke. I just figured that they gave Scheyer a super quiet coach in waiting tag after that.
