    Dakich pointed everything out correctly

I agree with that. The road ahead is not pretty. A win over only Ole Miss seems plausible at this point. A week ago people were still talking about the Alabama game like that should be a win, and I was thinking, "You're not seeing what I'm seeing." I think they'll probably be saying something...

    Youngest team in the country

He didn't stand out in the postseason games. The only one who did even a little was Vanderbilt in the Jordan game before he got hurt (well, Gilgeous-Alexander, too, against weaker competition in the Derby Festival Classic).

Shouldn't have been fooled by Bamba decision

Nope. It's the People's Republic of Austin. A socialist "paradise" island in the conservative Texas sea.

    Youngest team in the country

I don't think it's going to be a very enjoyable year. Yes, we have the No. 1 recruiting class again, but this isn't dominant like the classes from '09, '13 or '15. A couple of these guys could prove me wrong, but I don't see any transcendent stars in this recruiting class. None of them jumped...

Day before Turkey day, how are you watching today's 1pm game?

Not in Kentucky :( , but I'm not getting anything done at work, either. I'm recording it and will watch it tonight, so don't tell me what happens, OK?

I can see why Arkansas fans are mad...

I've always thought that's the perfect comparison. UK basketball IS Bama football in many ways. But Arkansas fans don't see their program the same way Kentucky football fans do. They think they're on the same level, or at least a similar level, to UK--that's how delusional they are. They'll...

Excellent Interview with Quade Green's High School Coach from CatsPause

I'm sure Quade is going to be great, and I welcome him aboard with open arms. But when he went head-to-head with Young in the summer, it was clear which was the better player--and it wasn't him. I'm still hoping they can get Young because he provides a lot more dynamic scoring punch.

I can see why Arkansas fans are mad...

I'm down here in the middle of it, and it's inexcusable the way they treated both Monk and Archie a few years ago. The comtemptible Mike Irwin (NW Ark. TV sportscaster since about 1926) did more than intimate--with zero evidence--that UK cheated to get him .

Projected Starting Lineup Announced for Sunday

Bob Neel's boy is calling it with new SEC Network sidekick Pat Bradley, the league's all-time leading three-point shooter under Nolan Richardson at Arkansas. I hear him on radio here locally. He has a visceral hatred for Kentucky. He can't hide it; it'll be interesting to see how he does...

    Fox and monk...

I haven't seen the others in person, but I've seen Monk a few times. I think he's got a Buddy Heild offensive game. Not nearly as polished at this point, but the potential is there. Heck, Buddy Heild didn't have a Buddy Heild game his freshman year. He added a little to his repertoire each year...

    Smoothest player ever at UK?

My first favorite Wildcat when I was a little kid. But in the pre-TV era (for the most part), I never got to actually see him play... only through the eyes of Cawood, and that was a pretty good way to "see" a game.

    Dakari

Nope, two (actually three) different cases. That's a red herring assuming I would say the same thing about Aaron or Andrew that I do about Dakari. What does one have to do with the other two?
  13. C

    Dakari

Ah, but you can! This is considered the year of the senior. The national POY will likely be a senior. Either one of the top two contenders for that award is twice the player he was his freshman year. Both developed skills while in college. But my main point is not about Dakari's improvement...

It is what it is and it's not all good. (Long)

Only five moments of "sheer joy?" How about '76. Wasn't that also one?

    Dakari

I doubt that very seriously. He would have been featured in a way he never could be on last year's team. I'm not saying he had every tool in the drawer, but the ones he had could have been polished this year at UK in a way that would make him much more attractive for the next level.
