    Quad 1 wins are determined based on how your opponent finishes the season—not their ranking at the time of the game. IU will not be a Quad 1 win for either UofL or UofK by the end of the season.

    Personally… I am glad Cal is gone…got old losing to Cal every year at UofK. If there is one game he decides to coach well in…it is against Louisville…never understood that.

    Remember…this was a consensus Top 5 team w/ legitimate national title talent & depth. This was supposed to be a 10+ deep team. Pope had access to $22M via JMI and he decided to avg about $1.7M per scholarship player…not hard to believe…and why would he flex and leak that #…if it wasn’t true...

    I remember being very disappointed when WB picked UofK over UofL. He missed out on the ‘86 championship and UofL probably would have won another one with him onboard.

    Indiana by 3 pts. It is going to be a close game…because UofK is more athletic than Indiana…but Indiana is better coached, will make you guard them the whole game & plays disciplined defense (shut down Mikel Brown). IU has some clutch 3-point shooters who can close-out a close game.

    Not a horrible deal…JMI must fund the university’s revenue-sharing budget (starting @ $20.6M/year). While other schools have to pull this out of their current budget. So that should be enough to fund a talented basketball team each year…assuming you pick the right players.😉

    Odd…MoD and Oweh play like players that “think” they are good 3-point shooters. Aberdine is a solid 3 pt shooter…he is just taking too many forced & contested shots due to the lack of offensive movement.

    PK has #11 UofL at 8 - 1 and was also hired at the same time as May/Pope…but took over a dumpster fire from KP. May was down to UofL & Mich…but was uncomfortable with the fanbase’s Manical focus on basketball at UofL…so no way he goes to UofK. 😉

    Bad look when your 5-star freshmen from KY at his dream school & getting meaningful minutes is jogging back on defense AND not blocking out his man. This is what we saw at UofL for 2 yrs under KP…except he would have also lost to bad teams as well.

    Fair point…I am trying not to be too obnoxious…but be honest…you guys enjoyed the UofL KP absolute 2-yr destruction. Pope is the first UK coach (in any sport) I actually like…I honestly feel bad for the guy.

    Pope is going to get & deserves a 3rd year. He will do enough in the 3rd yr to get another year. He is on the Matt Doherty/UNC path…which is worse than the 2 yrs KP gave UofL…so buckle-up buttercup…this is going to be an interesting. 🍿

    UofL should have beaten IU by 20 pts…refs kept the game close in the 1st half. Hate IU…that team is VERY annoying!! L’s up!

    This team needs a real PG & back-up PG more than JQ or Mo D back. Neither…JQ nor Mo D is going to help this team offensively…in fact they will probably just clog up the driving lanes…because neither is a real offense threat. JQ would be crazy to jump into this mess and risk injury & draft stock...
