    Qualifications for managers?

I love lunatic outside the box thinking. Basketball managers need to be full-time students of the university. To be a grad assistant, you need to be in grad school, so that puts most of the guys out. We are going to have 15 guys on the roster. The last thing we need is more bodies in practice.

Now I understand the Big East Love

The EDIT is important in your information. UK's budgeted revenue for FY25 is $188,372,890 (UK Financials - Page 5). It also looks like UConn's FY24 revenue was $105,600,000 (UConn Information). One huge aspect of UConn's report is that $31.7 million of their revenue comes from the university...

Now I understand the Big East Love

I don't think there is any way they split the $18 million (some will go to other sports) even between the 2. Football will get more imo....it just depends on how much more.

Now I understand the Big East Love

I think only 2 Big East schools have hockey....UConn and Providence.

    Here is what started it.

Now I understand the Big East Love

A few of the schools will do well with this, but not all of them. An interesting thing will be a school like UConn. Their revenue in 2024 was $63 million. The university also subsidized the athletic department by putting in $32 million from the main university budget. I’m just not sure the...

Now I understand the Big East Love

No way most of these schools can afford anywhere close to $20 million in revenue sharing. Most of the Big East schools will be way less than $20 million.

Now I understand the Big East Love

An important aspect of this is that since they don’t have football, the revenue at most of the schools is much less than power programs. I’d say most of them are probably under $50 million. For example, they get $8 million per school for the TV deal. The settlement says that NCAA Division I...

    2026 NCAA Tournament Questions

Agree that they knew. If they can get Texas Southern to be the host, then I have zero issues with it. If they can’t get someone to take it, then yes, that’s on them.

    2026 NCAA Tournament Questions

I don’t necessarily agree. Games are hosted in home towns of college teams all the time with the ability to play there. Houston’s mistake was agreeing to be the host school. If they can have someone rise be the host, I see no issues with it. When the tournament is in Philly, you’ll never see...

    2026 NCAA Tournament Questions

Yep, I get that. Just talking about preference of where I would want UK to play.

    2026 NCAA Tournament Questions

Agree…I also think the map is probably pretty representative of where most UK fans live too. The SE is just a much more natural area than Missouri, Houston, etc. I would even prefer the SE over places like Cleveland and Chicago also. Atlanta is the perfect example. 6 hours from Lexington...

    2026 NCAA Tournament Questions

I never think of these things in terms of distance from Lexington, as UK fans are all over the state and also all over the country. The SE is a natural location and region for UK. As an example, the state of Florida has the third most UK grads outside of Kentucky and Ohio. To me, SC would...

On This Day In 1989, Kentucky Hired Rick Pitino.

Eddie Sutton resigned on March 27th. Could you imagine this board if it took 2 months to hire a new coach? We went from April 9 to April 12 this year without a coach and people were losing their damn mind wondering why it was taking too long.
