    The NCAA lets you play a 5th year in a different sport. I remember UTEP had a 4-year basketball player (Cedrick Lang) transfer to the football team for a 5th year. He actually ended up on some NFL practice squads for a few years (signed by Broncos, Patriots, and Colts)...

    My understanding is that if 75% of FBS schools stand together, they can bind the Big Ten and SEC to whatever rights they negotiate. Maybe I'm wrong, though; one of the board lawyers can probably weigh in.

    UNC got some iffy calls earlier. The timing of the ones in NU's favor late in the 4th definitely made a difference.

    I wonder if switching goalies at the half was a mistake for UNC. Their goalie in the 1st half was on fire in the 2nd quarter when the 'Cats couldn't get anything going.

    Now I disagree with overturning THAT goal, and issuing a yellow card at that. UNC fans are right to be upset. The refs let so much contact slide early, so I don't get the calls in the 2nd half.

    It's not a makeup call if it was correct by the rules. KAH had to use a challenge to get them to look at it. It does seem kind of silly that a goal can be waved off for something that happens after the goal.

    I don't know about these refs. They let some serious contact from UNC earlier in the game slide and then upheld a yellow card against the 'Cats for what looked like very incidental contact. They just called another foul during the power play for a UNC player who was falling down on her own.

    If baseball scholarships were increased from 11.7 to 25, wouldn't NU have to balance that with women's scholarships? It seems that supporting baseball would necessitate funding women's sports.

    I never disputed that, I just think it's further evidence that Lujan was a fool. But I don't know why I'm suddenly supposed to agree with him in this case.
