    Loved your thought about ELO! Graduated HS in '75. The whole decade lives with me to this day! Thinking back, my favorite groups/bands were The Eagles, McCartney and Wings, ELO, and Fleetwood Mac! Also, would like to throw in 60's/70's favorites The Grass Roots and 3 Dog Night!

    So far, I'm very disappoinited in Stewarts offense. He's supposed to be a pretty decent outside shooter. After last year, I expected to see some 3 pointers out of Dom. Maybe he's just not D1 material.

    Question for you................can you build a program through the portal, every year? Or, do you "try" to first build a program thru recruiting, and only use the portal for one or two guys a year, as needed?

    If it is lower than Northwestern, then that's not Mike Rhoade's fault, is it! You could bring in John Wooden, and with no NIL to spend, what difference would it make.

    IMHO, the "hard reset" you mentioned started after the loss to Northwestern. Whatever was brewing, up to that game, behind the scenes, came to an immediate STOP after the loss to NW. It had to be pretty, pretty bad! The "house cleaning" will be left to the new coach.

    Absolutely! Wheeler was huge (God bless him!), and Bader was hitting real good and his defense was fantastic.

    You're entitled to your own opinion. - Schwarber was "protected" by Harper hitting behind him. Pitch around Schwarbs, then face Harper. But, you probably knew that. - Topper managed the team to 96 wins. Losing Wheeler hurt in the playoffs. Not Toppers fault. He managed the bullpen as best...

    Keep Topper! He did the best he could with what he had. The offense was too up-and-down the last couple of years. We also didn't get a true "Bryce Harper" season this year.

    You're right. I got off track of what I wanted to say, about how bad a few organizations are and have trouble paying big salaries in todays game. But some teams have continuously bad seasons, and don't seem to care.

    I agree with ya 100% about the financial structure. The big city giants are ruling the roost. And it makes my point about expansion. Not gonna make a difference.

    IMHO, baseball does NOT need to expand! There are 3-4 teams right now who are struggling to win 50-60 games. Colorado, ChiSox, and Washington were the three worst, with Minny and Pittsburgh barely over 70. Almost half the league finished .500 or worse. The NFL and the NBA are the same way...
