Rutgers vs Penn State / Game Thread

I can’t see how Thiam would do any worse on guarding Dread than Harper, and Harper has zero points.

Your assessment is not based on reality: Before Issa even entered the game, Taylor scored NW’s 1st points with a 3p. Bottom line is that if someone other than Thiam would’ve made 3’s in the 2nd half then Rutgers could’ve won.

Who would you have put on #14-Taylor instead of Issa that would’ve been more effective because Issa didn’t start and Taylor scored 8 points in the 1st 10 minutes of the game or to put another way #14-Taylor only scored 6 points after the minute 7:47 in the 1st half. So I think Pike decided to...

Using your logic, evaluating Issa based on how #14 scored then you could also say that Issa held #14 to less points (14pt) than he scored on Michigan the #2 ranked team in the country when NW played Michigan 5 days ago, and against Michigan #14 shot 50% from the field & 57% from 3p while...

    Thiam

Agreed, he needs to have a similar mentality for offense that he has for defense. And the team needs to work harder to generating better looks for their shooters, but like last year it’s pretty clear that when we drive to the basketball, there won’t be a pass to an open shooter. And I think...

    Thiam

May be a better team offensively but will the gains on offense outweigh the points that will be given up with Thiam out of the lineup? I don’t think so in B1G play, with Harper not a serious threat from 3p.

Rutgers vs Wisconsin / Game Thread

Shooters will always struggle without great ball movement. Even Happ passes the ball out at times, unlike we do.

Rutgers vs Wisconsin / Game Thread

It wouldn’t hurt for a few of the drives to the basket to end up being a pass out to an open shooter. Seems like that doesn’t happen enough, IMO.

Rutgers vs Miami / Game Thread

I think Issa’s biggest contribution tonight was his help holding Vasiljevic to just 3 points on 1-8, 1-6 from 3p.

    Issa Thiam- Six assists

Troll! Lol I’ve always liked Issa but I do wish even though he’s gotten better that he’d dribble a bit more, like his brother.

    Issa Thiam- Six assists

Hopefully Issa will also get a little more aggressive like his brother here.

    Issa Thiam- Six assists

Maybe Issa’s brother now playing for D-1 Tourney team is motivating him, lol.

    Sanders going pro

This or another top recruit or grad transfer PG will now see this as a new chance to get a lot of playing time in the B1G.
