BB Recruiting No. 28 overall Gavin Griffths commits to Rutgers

Congrats on the great get. Give the credit to Pikiell for this one. Apparently Pikiell is good friends with Gavin’s dad and he has known Gavin since he was born. Realistically, since Pikiell has Rutgers basketball on an upwards trajectory, committing to Rutgers was expected.

Backlash has reportedly killed Schiano's chances to land Tennessee job

This is more about the fan base wanting a proven winner with an offensive mindset. Shiano would have been a bad fit at Tennessee. As for the Sandusky taint, who knows, but in today's environment, you are guilty if you were associated with Penn St at the time.

    UCONN transfer Vance Jackson visiting

Remember, he was a freshman and most freshmen are going to have ups and downs. He really struggled with his shot early season, but he improved as the season went on and ended the year with a good 3 pt FG%. That said, he benefited from Jalen Adams kick outs on drives to get open shots. He...

    UCONN transfer Vance Jackson visiting

As a UConn fan, here is my take on Jackson. Has a decent 3 point shot and it got better as the season went on, which is what you would expect from a freshman. He played more than expected this year due to injuries, but he was not expected to start next year at UConn and his minutes would have...

Per source: Drew mehringer out as OC

It seems Rutgers has the lowest assistant coach salary pool in the Big 10 and it is half the size of Ohio St. $450k for an offensive coordinator is not that much, but Rutger's had a young OC with limited experience, so the pay seems appropriate. It sounds like he needs more seasoning and going...

Is this board or fanbase prepared for 2 to perhaps 3 bowl less seasons?

You have to cut Ash some slack. The very top FBS schools hire proven and experienced head coaches like Meyer at Ohio St., Harbaugh at Michigan, Petersen at Washington, Kelly at ND. Most of the hiring risk has been taken out, although there is still hiring risk. When you hire a coordinator...

    Calhoun

Calhoun is a paid employee at UConn, so he won't be going to Rutgers in any official capacity. I think his salary is $300k/yr. By the way, Steve Pikiell is a great guy who will build Rutgers basketball the right way. I don't think he will take short cuts and he will expect his team to play...

Bret Bielema wants a B1G SEC challenge like basketball

Some SEC teams could do it, other could not. Some SEC teams already have annual OOC rivals that they play at the end of the season: Louisville/Kentucky, Clemson/South Carolina, GT/Georgia, Florida St./Florida, so they would probably not be for it. And, if it was the last week of the season...
