OT: Good books you have read

Ben Macintyre has some great non-fiction spy novels, notably "The Spy and the Traitor" and "A Spy Among Friends." I believe the Spy and the Traitor is being made into a mini-series on one of the streaming platforms as well. "Lost in Shangri-La" is a good non-fiction book about survivors of a...

OT: Caribbean with young kids - suggestions?

We're looking to do a week somewhere in the Caribbean with a 2.5 yr old and 8 month old. My parents would be coming along to help too. For the sake of convenience, an all-inclusive resort would be ideal, so we don't have to mobilize the kids etc. Does anyone have any recommendations of resorts...

Who are your top 5 all-time favorite RU players?

    1. Joel Salvi - the best energy guy (I’m also biased because he was my counselor at Kevin Bannon Basketball Camp, and I got to throw him ally-oops as a fifth grader) 2. Rashod Kent - 6’6 center in the best (IMO) iteration of the Big East 3. Jerome Coleman - would pull up for 3 on fast breaks...

    Official BC Game Roll Call

No, there isn't anything like that. Few people even have driveways. Parking is very limited compared to Piscataway.

    Official BC Game Roll Call

Unfortunately, parking around Cleveland Circle is very sparse. There are a few metered, 2-hour limit spots by the commercial establishments. Other than those, nearly all spots require a resident permit. Parking enforcement on game days is particularly swift. The first people out and about on...

    Using the Boston subway question

Something like that... there is no rhyme or reason

    Using the Boston subway question

Agreed, that's your best bet. Take 90 East to 95 South, park at Riverside (right off of 95). Easy 20 minute ride in to Chestnut Hill, then 15-minute walk to the stadium (.7 miles). Or easy ~22 minute ride to Reservoir, 2-minute walk to Cityside Tavern, then a pleasant 20-minute walk (1 mile)...

    Using the Boston subway question

You just purchase the swipe to get on the train, and then get off wherever you want. (It's like the Subway, not the commuter rail.) You can get off at Chestnut Hill or one stop further at Reservoir (near the bar).

    Using the Boston subway question

Yes, 15-20 minutes from Riverside to Chestnut Hill. I would also just take into account that the Green Line is unreliable. It may only leave every 15-20 minutes as opposed to every 3-5 minutes like the Subway.

    Using the Boston subway question

I would budget at least an hour if coming from Gov't Center/Park Street. At least 45 minutes if coming from Copley.

    Using the Boston subway question

Boston College stop, at the end of the B Line, is by far the closest. On the D Line, Reservoir and Chestnut Hill will each be 15-20 minute walk. (As would Cleveland Circle stop on the C Line.) If taking the D from Boston, get off at Reservoir and walk. If taking the D from Riverside, get off...

    Using the Boston subway question

Yes, that would do the trick. Riverside Station might be your best bet for parking and riding in on the D.

    Using the Boston subway question

To get to the bar you can take the C Line or the D Line. C Line stop is Cleveland Circle. D Line stop is Reservoir The bar (Cityside Tavern) is about a 20 minute walk around the reservoir to the stadium. (A nice walk in good weather.) The B Line takes you all the way to the Boston College...

    Boston College Party Plans

Agreed. Pretty sure the BC fans paying for seats in that section will all be spending their final summer weekend at their Cape/ACK/MV places... Not as many diehards up there. The ones who aren't closing up their summer homes will be quietly drinking red wine in button downs and sundresses at...

    Boston College Party Plans

BC grad, life-long Rutgers fan here. BC tailgating definitely lacks compared to RU. Believe it or not, they've actually expanded tailgating areas since I graduated a decade ago. These days, when I make it up there, we generally tailgate in the Upper Brighton lot (top right of the image below)...
