    We ignored that directive until a few years ago, when officials were told we needed to prepare our teams for how the officials will call the movement during the playoffs.

    Nothing wrong with that - smooth and clearly not an intent to simulate the snap. There’s a reason you don’t see college programs doing that hard snap up/down to draw the the defense offsides and the wording of the rule in both codes are very similar! Get rid of it!

    Every other state EXCEPT Illinois calls that a false start. Its something many officials have argued for years but apparently the state interpreters have other opinions

    Ref Question - Iowa Game

    No. HS Football - this would essentially either stand as an incomplete pass or you would call an inadvertent whistle and replay the down. I would say most crews would keep this as an incomplete pass. With replay they have clear recovery in immediate action. That’s what they ruled last night

    Ref question

    Big run down the sideline - a member of the offensive team went out of bounds on his own and then came back in to block a player. The refs enforced it 15 yards from where he came back in. After that the yardage was still enough for a first down. Did they get it right?
