    Cal aint' smart if you've ever listened to him. But he focuses on simple things that matter to simple recruits, and he's charismatic and a schmoozer. The art of recruiting isn't about smarts, it's about hittting things that matter, being likeable/relateable and showing the audience you care.

    Very glass half full view - I like it. Freeman will be replacing Karaban, who was the QB of that team for 4 years. Big shoes to fill. Some of this will be about what he has upstairs - doesn't have to be Karaban, but he needs to have some grey matter.
