100% they notified the conference schools. Their HC also took a job as an assistant at Tri Valley where he was at before. I honestly dont know if Watseka ever gets back to 11 man football. Time will tell.
Been the talk in these parts the last few years that he would be stepping down along with numerous assistant coaches. I think they will promote from within here. Congrats to Mike and go enjoy watching your kids play in college.
Watseka has really struggled since Covid year. I believe in 2021 they canceled their Varsity season a few weeks into the year. They have been battling low numbers for awhile now and having to play so many kids that just arent ready for the Varsity level. I think I heard that they have 11...
Though it hasnt been officially announced yet Watseka will not be having a Varsity football program this fall. A couple of schools Oakwood and Iroquois West I have seen posted schedules with Watseka replaced.
Im sure Ric Arand more than did his homework on Benet. Not a lot of small schools knocking at the door to play Lena Winslow Im sure their options were getting limited.

EPG is running into a buzzsaw on Saturday. The physical play of Wilmington will be something they havent seen all year. Tri Valley is generally considered a physical team in the HOI conference and we saw how they fared last week.
