I'm going thru a divorce also, it was a surprise, & broke my heart. I to have had to deal with depression over the past few months. Can't imagine dealing with it for years like you. There were days I hoped I didn't wake up the next day, but got thru it. I could never harm myself due to my children, and the consequences scare the heck out of me.
