Will Brohm ever be welcome back at UL?

During the "will he / won't he" fiasco, I posited that within 5 years that Brohm would be loathed by both Purdue and UofL fans. I thought he would... 1. Use UofL's coaching search as a wedge to extort money out of Purdue. 2. UofL would hire a coach and fans would compare his record to the...

Former UofL Players to Pay for Jared Lorenzen's Funeral

God I hope so. There are some really well paid former cats in and out of the NFL. I hope they're donating behind the scenes. To me, the Redman et al donation speaks volumnes about the respect for the core of honorable competition. I can't tell you how heartwarming that is.

    I hate UK but dang...

And the biggest mistake you guys could make is bailing on Satterfield before he gets his system and his players installed. Step 1: Recruit kids that fit in your system. This is a painstaking, 3-5 year process. Your initial pitch is playing time, but later you move to "you're joining an...

    I hate UK but dang...

The Satterfield / Stoops comparison is an interesting one, if only because the both inherited a mess. I think that the best case scenario with Satterfield, though, is as a Frank Beamer clone. Beamer took over a mess at VaTech and steadily built a winner (in the ACC, no less) by evaluating...

    Kentucky spring game

Spring games don't really tell you much about a team. Think of them as freewheeling open practices that are supposed to impress recruits and give the local media something to talk about. Remember, UK's spring game offense whipped their (eventually top 10) defense last year too.

The Louisville Football Coaching Search: A Cautionary Tale

I double-checked my post and didn't find that anywhere.

The X factor in the Petrino/Brohm conversation.

I don't think for a second that 20 kids suddenly want to transfer, but 20 kids trying to say to their administration "FIRE THIS COACH!!!!"? That I could see.

The X factor in the Petrino/Brohm conversation.

Per Mark Ennis: "According to a source within the athletic department, in the Fall 2018 semester alone, 20 Louisville football players have requested the required paperwork to initiate a transfer. Number was described as “abnormally high. The most for one sport since the women’s lacrosse fiasco.”

    LSU

To Petrino, Part of the appeal of UofL was the unflinching loyalty (deserved or not) of Jurich. With Jurich gone, and an uncertain future at all levels of the UofL athletic department, I think there is a strong chance that Petrino bolts. Where does he go? Who knows. There are lots of SEC...

Why should Lee and Lewis even play at this point?

I understand that the current situation is not ideal for them, but walking away from your team is the last thing you want to do when trying to get to the NBA. Want to prove to the league that you're capable of being a dependable teammate? Don't bail on your team when they need you most.
