    I think anyone getting excited or even considering the possibility of a Reed return are setting themselves up for massive disappointment. I get Reed loves UK, but a guaranteed lottery pick worth $25 - 30 million over 4 - 5 years is going to win out. Turning that down to return for a new head...

So far, there isn't much buzz other than the couple of guys that decommitted from BYU. The problem for Pope is going to be keeping the fans interested...

    I see what you're saying, but I think he just would want to avoid the media circus that comes with that, and he doesn't want to appear checked out or like he is focused on UK while coaching the Bulls. If/when he loses, some people are always going to accuse him of losing it on purpose to move on...

    At least Pope knows better than most what he would be getting himself into. Also, as people have said about Drew, Oats and others, UK gives you massive advantages coaching at BYU doesn't. So he could in theory do very well here.

    Honestly, if he tells us he will take it and tells us who he would like as assistants, we can go ahead and get them in place and working quietly behind the scenes to make the transition much smoother for next season. We could even try to retain Antigua or Chin to be a bridge for a year.

    Well, also for Joker, BCG, Elzy, the horrible Cal extension, destroying the cheerleading program, not getting on board with promoting NIL in an acceptable manner, not investing in football early enough, not allowing alcohol sales for years, and likely several other things I am forgetting.

    A lot of this could have been avoided. I know we all like to blame Cal, but Mitch is just as guilty for allowing their relationship to sour. He is also the one responsible for the massive buyout that essentially tied our hands and permitted Cal to leave us like this.
