    2027 Recruiting Thread

    the other sports will have to take a hit. that was what congress was trying to avoid. at some point if this will blow up;

    2027 Recruiting Thread

you are correct. If you get ESPNU stream look for the interview of Danny White Univ Tenn AD. He was spot on, and here are the keys. First point was that everyone needs to take a deep breath and state this is NOT NIL, but pay to play (P2P). Less than 1% of all athletes have any NIL value...

'26 NFL Draft Day 3 thread

I think they will all go, but RB are not drafted at the rate the were historically. here is a question - who will have more players drafted? Indian U national champs or Penn State 8 win team.? Indiana may set a record for the FEWEST drafted players from a national champ.

NFL Combine - Penn State guys and others

Zane really showed and DDS was right there. I thought this would be a good situation for Dinkins but didn't hit numbers most thought - 4.7 40. Did not see Zakee in any of the workouts - is he there? Looking forward to Drew throwing. OSU as usual has cyborgs and BIG as a whole is pretty...

Trace McSorley Headed to the Bills

agree - disappointed to see Trace go, and would like to see more stability in coaches/roster to rebuild/recover. it is kind of odd for the ASST QB coach at PSU to get to the NFL as a QB coach. usually the real QB coach would get poached before the ASST QB coach.

FC/OT: Why can’t the NCAA enforce its eligibility rules?

as the NCAA is an instrumentally of the colleges with oversight by the schools, the anti-trust finding essentially means the NCAA cannot enforce any rule that the Presidents approved around eligibility - i.e. academic standards, enrolled students, etc. A school can clearly do this on their own...

FC/OT: Why can’t the NCAA enforce its eligibility rules?

this picture was all the NCAA would need to get an appeal with change of forum. total judge shopping decision here. NCAA should appeal.

CFB player Contract disputes - not the same as the other disputes with NCAA

the fact that the schools are members of the NCAA is true, and the NCAA not having an A/T exemption has been what enabled the lawsuits to get traction. However, in the recent cases of the QBs at a school, enrolled and committed and then suddenly leaving is not the same situation. While an...

CFB player Contract disputes - not the same as the other disputes with NCAA

The CFB players have come to think they are free to do whatever they want, when they want and get paid whatever they want under "NIL". This condition was the direct result of litigation against the NCAA, which has enabled unrestricted free agency and pay for play (pretending that it is NIL)...

A former pro is about to play for Alabama’s basketball team. It’s the latest college sports absurdity with a simple solution

I think that is correct and the NFL could take over and run CFB as a minor league. The NCAA cannot manage any of this, as the likes of Tom Mars have used some creative lawyering to argue that the NCAA was a "monopoly" - using this logic we could have defeated the NCAA when they sanctioned us...

    Insider interview regarding 2025 season

I am in your camp. JF did some good things = good recruiter, maintained many of the traditional PSU values and seemed to hire good asst coaches. like Joe, he did not like to play too many guys early - just his style. Not so good on gameday decisions which often did not make sense. like...

Even more money for PSU football players.........

is the 82% for football a PSU choice (i.e. each school chooses)? Hopefully, the other sports do not become a block on this by trying to create "everyone gets the same piece". There must be a method to dodge Title IX challenges. Payouts would probably look just like an NFL team where the...

Are you concerned that you may be priced out of attending games in person?

four of us (two couples) attended the OSU game in 2023 at Ohio stadium. We stayed in a Hilton Homewood Suite 2 BR unit. The cost was $300 per night and we used some Honors points to reduce $ cost. Breakfast buffet was included. There were a lot of good restaurants in the area for dinner...

who is the QB coach now?

who determined we needed to bring Trace back as a coach when he does not have any experience? Does this mean Danny O'Brien is headed out? normally you want one position coaching approach at a position level. To have the AD making statements about this has to offend Danny.

“C”FB: “Texas raises ticket prices as player costs go up”

this not a collective but instead Univ Texas actual budget money for scholarships. i thought that the university could not spend it own budget money on "paying players".
