A look at the preseason Top 10 at InterMat

Lets see if this is the case in February and March. Big difference in pre season rankings and end of the season rankings, especially for in essence a redshirt freshman or whatever that will be called now. Freshman, sophmore, junior, senior, 5th year senior?!?

    Schedule Finally

Agreed, that would be a great team season, which would also mean some great individual results at NCAAs to accomplish a 3rd place finish for the Hawks. Right now PSU and OSU are tier one, with about 5 teams in tier 2 battling for 3rd/4th if you are being realistic. Good isn't good enough...

PREVIEW: Trio of past/present Hawkeyes set for Final X wrestle-offs on Friday

I get why we lost him, but man that one hurts. Kid is a stud and wrestles just like Tom and Terry did. Was a perfect Iowa fit and I would be shocked if he doesn't win multiple titles in both folk and freestyle over the next couple years. Really going to sting if he helps VT catch the Hawks...

    Open Practice, 9/12/26

Mocco will get matches this year, and probably some tough ones early I'd guess.

FLO HS Rankings - Northern Iowa has 2 in the top 10 P4P...

I honestly think most stud recruits feel like they can beat anybody at their weight. All the top teams are loaded at almost every weight anymore, so I don't think that factors into most of their college decisions. None of the top teams are promising any highschoolers starting spots on their...

Terry giving the Cuban fans an FU at the end of the gold medal match...great match...

For sure, both the eye gouge and ball grab happened after the Cuban got taken down and the action was done, especially the ball grab. Just sitting there waiting for the ref to bring them back to the middle and he gave Terry the old reach around. Terry actually did a pretty good job of...

If nothing else, some of you guys give me a good chuckle every day.

NEWS: 2027 pledge Sonny Amato announces decommitment

For sure. Not something you would just make up. Someone posted the same thing a couple days ago too. Most people aren't like Patty Cakes and just make **** up to fit their narrative. Not something you would accuse someone of doing unless you were certain it happened.

    Recruiting….

The reality is Tom and Terry are very strict, disciplined, demanding, and stubborn. Most of those traits are great to have as a coach, but not all. I'll let you guys decide which ones are good or bad. I can see how they would not mesh well with some recruits. Hell, how many of us would have...

    Recruiting….

I agree with this dub. My money is on this with Amato. There was expectations tied to that commitment. Tom obviously didn't feel like they were being met, so he pulled the scholly. I would be surprised if Amato couldn't earn it back if expectations were met in the future, but he decided to...

NEWS: 2027 pledge Sonny Amato announces decommitment

The asshat twists everything he says to make Iowa look bad. Name one positive thing he has ever said about Iowa or any wrestlers from or going to Iowa. He is a douchebag with an agenda and always will be.

    Honest Question about Jordan Williams

JW is very talented and very dangerous. I have zero issue with benching him last year. He just wasn't getting it done. If he earns the spot this year and performs like he is capable of, he is a top 8 guy for sure. Will he do that, only he knows. I am really hoping so as that will be very...

    Next Years Lineup

Interesting, I never knew why only baseball and softball allowed 8th graders to compete at the varsity level in Iowa. Now I know!

Any Word On Kueter And Spring Football?

Writing BK off going into his junior year (where he probably starts ranked #1) after he AA'ed as a freshman and his sophmore season while banged up is comical to me, but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. Guess we will see how the next two years play out, but I have a feeling Ben...
