    I like seeing Iowa focus more on high end recruits and recruiting as opposed to 4 or 5 transfer portal guys personally. Recruit well, develop the recruits, and use the portal to fill in 1 or 2 holes. This is the way to build a team imo.

    You absolutely do need money. How are you going to afford this all-time great unproven coach without it? You also are not getting these recruits to come without paying them handily. Do you really think PSU, Okie St., and Iowa are getting stud recruits to come for free just for the coaching...

    I would agree. The question is whether DT can keep stacking recruits consistently year after year (he appears to be able too)? If he does, Okie will be legitimately challenging Carl in another 2 years or so.

    It is really a vicious cycle. Get the best wrestlers year after year, have those wrestlers have success. The next generation of young studs see your success, get the best wrestlers again. Good coaching with the best talent up and down your lineup is the key. Only way to stop the PSU machine...
