Agreed, about right. I am cautiously optimistic for my Bears. Tuscola and Franklin could surprise some people.

Any news on coach Chappell’s next job?

Chesnee just scored big time! I couldn’t help but notice they are the SC 2A state wrestling champions. They got a fantastic football coach and a hammer of a wrestler in his son! Well played.

I hope he does. I mean every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut (4-7).

Surely you don’t think they went out to hire the best coach and came back with Brindley, check out his record.😂 The leadership doesn’t care about wins, just someone they can control. Chappell has too much influence and Brindley is a much better puppet.

My facts are straight. He was fired. Keep drinking the kool aid buddy.

The beginning of the end. Took them over 2 months to hire the guy who was fired 6 years ago, a shame for our kids and the community.

Sad is an understatement, I would say embarrassing, unprofessional and unethical are more fitting.

    Brooks steps down at Franklin

Couldn’t agree more. The Haywood BOE has to hold administrators and the superintendent accountable for their actions. This situation, just like those at Tuscola, has been handled unprofessionally and our students/players will be the ones who pay the price. It’s more than just awkward that the...

    Brooks steps down at Franklin

The list of candidates must be really short if they are looking to hire a 4-7 coach, mediocre at best. I still can’t believe we have allowed our admin to run off our coach.

Very interesting how certain comments disappear from this thread…..

    Chappell steps down at Pisgah

Chappell was sought after every year, doesn’t mean he was shopping around. Man is a great coach and knows how to build and carry a program. He does what most coaches can’t and did more with less talent. Glad we had him as long as we did. Too bad our school admin and AD screwed this up for the...

    Chappell steps down at Pisgah

“I believe the legacy he’s left behind is among the best in Pisgah’s history,” he said. “Through all the adversity, Coach Chappell helped us stay on task and focused,” Reynolds said. “Through wins, losses, ups and downs, he never quit on us,” Hyman said. “He was always there for us.” Article-...

    Chappell steps down at Pisgah

Many of you seem to be misinformed. According to the players, he never told them he was leaving, only that he had applied and was in talks. From what I saw he coached one of his best seasons and was more than committed to his team and the community. He has some issues on his staff (3 snakes in...

    Brooks steps down at Franklin

I’m definitely hearing rumblings that Brooks and Chappell have been talking. Brooks was spotted at the North game first round of playoffs. Sounds like Pisgah’s loss could be Franklin’s gain.
