    True it may only be a handful of people who are criticizing him harshly. I would love to see his pass numbers and accuracy improve, but he has shown tremendous improvement overall.

    Even Iowas original starter was not impressive : YDS 459 TD 4 INT 3 QBR 28. How is that better than Gavin? And don’t say well he played penn state, because Gavin played Michigan.

    My guess is you are trying to make a point that qbr can be misleading. It’s a fair point, but obviously you can’t really put any weight on a rating of someone who threw two passes.     Ok so qbr is a meaningless stat to you? Seems like a decent measure of value to me. Not saying he’s lighting it up or even playing great, but in my eyes he’s the best qb RU has had in quite some time (and I know the bar is low).
