When Will the PIAA Finally Adopt College Boundary Rules

Danger rule would allow higher scoring via more takedowns and back points. And it would improve preparation for college to the lucky wrestlers who move forward. Just a common sense change, and one that helps the participants!

Lincoln Riley living it up in SoCal....

Guessing that was a tough agent to coach phone call after the Illinois game. “OK coach, USC is rapidly going in a different direction. Incredibly, PSU still wants to negotiate with us on a new contract. Call me crazy, but we somehow still have leverage. No idea why after this weekend but here...

When Will the PIAA Finally Adopt College Boundary Rules

Not make a difference? During the finals almost every match had point scoring that would have counted with sensible college out of bound rules. Seems more than obvious and noted by announcers as well. Danger rule seems like another no brainer. Why teach kids that lying flat on your back is a...

When Will the PIAA Finally Adopt College Boundary Rules

That and the danger rule! Those two things would change matches for the better. Less reckless ankle diving, more converted takedowns, and better edge action.

Disappointed that Aaron Brooks lost, but I think he wins in Detroit

Of course, and maybe not a reflection on our guys but more a reflection of their competition.

Disappointed that Aaron Brooks lost, but I think he wins in Detroit

I would go with Carter and Dean just based on their weight classes. Carter will most likely get Hidley or Lewis who have losses to each other. No idea who Dean will get, but no one undefeated. RBY has an undefeated Fix looking for revenge. No sure bets !

Disappointed that Aaron Brooks lost, but I think he wins in Detroit

He could drop to #3 after that loss. Which could mean Amine or Hidley in the semis and then the other in the final. That would be a really a high hill to climb.

    149, 157, 165 going forward

Bartlett is definitely going 141. Van Ness is a special talent and 149 for sure. Haines is special as well.

    149, 157, 165 going forward

Easy. Bartlett at 141, Van Ness at 149 , Haines at 157, and Facundo at 165. More interesting to me is 125 and 133. Howard at 125? Then who at 133?

Two common sense changes for the future

With only 6 weight classes only freaks need to apply for the Olympics! If you do keep that redshirt in place, than set some minimum standard to qualify. Managing scholarships is tough enough without 6 and 7 year athletes roaming the campus. Doesn’t happen in any other NCAA sport.

Two common sense changes for the future

While we wait for the BIG championship: 1) Align the 10 NCAA weight classes with the Freestyle weight classes. Why have separate weight classes? This would make training much easier and safer for wrestlers that participate in both. 2) Eliminate the Olympic Red Shirt year. Gable and Kyle...

    NCAA Prohibitive Favorites

This NCAA tournament may be the most competitive in years on an individual basis. Gable is really the only prohibitive favorite and Yianni is a solid favorite. After those two weight classes every other weight is super competitive and likely won by razor thin margins. Should be an amazing...

Weekly Review of Rankings for 2/8/22

Levi Haines could be the 157 guy as a true freshman next year. Just beat a Ohio State freshman who was highly rated coming out of high school. He looks impressive.
