    THE NEW D-LEAGUE

Cardinal fan here, but I followed several Reds players over the years. One was a guy known as the Professor. He also played for the Cards. My first in person game was at Sportsmanship ParK. Jim Brosnan an was warming up in the bullpen and the crowd was sparse. You could really hear the ball pop...

    THE NEW D-LEAGUE

As a nation and as individuals, we often fail to realize how good we have it in the USA. We often don't realize what life is like in other parts of the world, how precious life is and how it can be taken from you in an instant.

For you old timers, whatever happened to Ron Mercer ?

I had a customer from Nashville during the Mercer recruitment. The rest of this is what she told me, no proof other than she was an honest person. She said she went to the same beauty parlor as the wife of the man who was in charge of trying to get donations for Vandy. Mercer was just barely...

    THE NEW D-LEAGUE

In a Bill James book, he talks about Hank Bauer who was in the elite Marine Raiders. A politician was trying to make points by criticizing how baseball players were pampered in the military. He used Hank Bauer as an example. When advised of his status in an elite group and having got 2 Bronze...

    Kentucky Zooms Momcilovic

At DaNang, every branch of service or nationality that had a presence had security responsibility for a section of the perimeter. The way things worked out, we had a guard tower inside the marine camp. They were very unhappy about that. One night, one of our guys was mouthy about protecting...

    Kentucky Zooms Momcilovic

It depends on the individual and amount/type of training. From what I read, he likely has had a lot of specialized training. I was a military policeman many many years ago. I had 144 hours of physical armed restraint training, but goofed off a lot. One day the trainer got upset with me and...

Your favorite coaching era of UK basketball

The first year I had a good understanding of what was happening was the Fiddling Five. I loved the humor and sarcasm in Rupp's post game shows. Though I heard from high school coaches that Rick had a "I am better than you" attitude, I really enjoyed the play of Pitino's teams and his knowledge...

Agree with Oscar Combs and CALLING OUT Matt Jones for Disrespectful Anti-Veteran Indifference!

As a Viet Nam vet, if Memorial stays in the name and the $ is used wisely, I am OK with it.

    THE NEW D-LEAGUE

I played on a team once sponsored by a Strohs beer distribrutor. No one would even bother going to pick up the free beer. I also played on a team sponsored by a bar. We went undefeated one year and it was free drinks if we won. I never drank till after the game though.

    THE NEW D-LEAGUE

Thanks. I think the bandsaw I had weighed 1400 pounds. It was a monster with a huge throat. I'm not sure if a 16 throat would be enough. That is why I was hoping a scroll saw might work. Lowes has a 21 inch pretty cheap, whereas it seems a bigger throat on a bandsaw means a lot more money. I...
