Of course they were. Those kids on the Freedom team were from all over the place. Some of the key players were coming in from over an hour away in Spotsylvania.
They’re a recruited team spanning multiple school districts. They have an unfair advantage and it shouldn’t be allowed. My suggestion was to not ban them from VHSL play but rather send them to the classes with comparable talent.
They’re a recruited team playing in C3. Maury beats them by 4 scores. If they want to play in VHSL they should have to play up in C5/C6 given their advantage. Letting them crush small schools helps nobody
KG offense success will depend on Reger’s health. One of the more underrated players in the region. Struggles to stay healthy but he’s a game breaker when he’s out there.
Agree with everything until the end. Not feeling sorry for known cheaters. You are spot on that the VHSL needs to enforce the rules. The same thing that was happening at Freedom followed to Hayfield. FCPS should be ashamed for allowing it go on.
They’re not playing by the same rules as everyone else. Enrollment shouldn’t matter here. They’re a recruited team playing against mid sized public school teams. Send them to C6 with teams that have equal talent across the board.
