    I don’t think it means anything, but he isn’t irreplaceable if he leaves. Love him, and hope he comes back but it isn’t a big deal. Much bigger issues at hand.

    Why are older people so opposed to bringing back Rick Pitino?

    He just doesn’t seem to have the years in the tank that this position requires. St. John’s is a perfect place for him. Some of the guys mentioned on this thread who coached into their 80’s were long term coaches at their respective colleges and it was a different landscape in college sports.

    Pope isn't it. He's just not and anyone with a brain would have known he wasn't a good hire when they made it. I don't think the new AD is going to come in and fire Pope on Day 1, so we are stuck with this lemon of a staff for another year.
