Where would Oklahoma and Texas slot into that? I think you would like the Texas fans, both SC and Texas fans know their baseball. You might not like the institution that runs the University as much. So I guess you should distinguish between the fans and the overall school.
They never pretended it was about profit. It was all a public relations ploy. But it certainly makes some at the PGA look hypocritical. They started off with "the Saudis are evil, we will never deal with them ... how much money did you say? well that's different."
While that can happen, it is rare. Usually lightening strikes are in the middle of a lightening storm where you should have a very good idea that the risk is high and be expecting the danger. Certainly most strikes are when it is very much expected, the "when least expected" is so rare saying...
