    1A Althoff's Schedule

I did the Camino in 2016 and while in Leone saw what is thought to have the best pedigree to the holy grail title. A stone cup now set in a fine gold and jeweled base. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chalice_of_Do%C3%B1a_Urraca

    Rochester St. Laurence

A little clarification here. A student living in the city of Springfield itself could play football for a city school, Rochester, Pleasant Plains, New Berlin or Chatham Glenwood. The city boundries extent into all those school districts territories.

If High Schools Were Only Allowed to Hire Alumni

SH-G would have to choose the 100% proven alum in Derick.

    Flyers Coin Toss Pic

Seeing this I have to find the film of the Lemont game and see how they managed to play against them!

    Coldest Playoff Game

Providence vs SH-G 1994 State championship. Bitter cold night game at ISU made worse by SH-G fumbling away a sure win in the last couple of minutes. One of the great what ifs!

Central Illinois Proposal to improve competition

UHigh is more than competitive in nearly every sport other than football and they are not poor at it, just outgunned.

SHG 55 Spring Valley 6 Final

No one who entered Memorial Stadium on that gale force wind day thought the game would be a blow out but that is life. I left sadly shocked that a really good SH-G team could be so humbled. Last year's title game was a long shot for the Cyc's as none of us really thought we'd get that far and JC...

SHG coach Ken Leonard announces retirement

This is very bittersweet news. Ken has defined the school in many ways and has been a pillar of the community. Sadly the future enrollment numbers at SH-G don't look good. Since I came to Springfield five Catholic grade schools have closed and the five remaining are, with one exception, smaller...

    Joliet Catholic Academy

I do have to say that in Chicago the teachers union is doing their absolute best to keep all private school's doors open.

    Joliet Catholic Academy

DPP is the likely choice for our two grandsons as the are in Roscoe Village but the parents aren't ruling out Lane Tech either. Still that's five years away. It's nice they now have a Catholic prep school that close!
