GAME THREAD West Virginia football at No. 7 Penn State

O line looks great. D line soft. Secondary lost as usual. GG passing accuracy is crap.

    OU and UT discussions ongoing

Yep. They can pay and GTFO or stay and STFU. I don't care which.

    Colorado to Big 12?

I'd still rather see us in the ACC. Bottom line is there are about to be 2 big conferences - SEC and Big 10, and everyone else is going to be on the outside looking in. Between the NIL and the transfer portal, the top programs are going to pull away. The WVUs and VTs won't have the dollars to...

And WVU to SEC. Hedgeman says book it.

    US NEWS Academic ratings

WVU could easily move up the academic ladder but the state lacks the political will to do so. Move to a feeder school system. like UNC and most other school systems use. You think every numbnut NC kid gets in UNC Chapel Hill just because he wants to go there? Nope. Marginal kids start at...

Serious question. Does it seem that the...

Enthusiasm has certainly fallen, but I think that isn't just WVU. College football isn't as fun as it used to be. Between the wide open transfer portal, NIL deals, player protests, the explosion of luxury boxes, conference reshuffling that has teams like us playing a bunch of non-historic...

What exactly is WVU on the hook for?

The combination of NIL and transfer portal is going to turn WVU and every other mid-level program into farm teams a few elites. Hard to imagine ever being able to develop and keep a Geno Smith or Pat White under this paradigm. As soon as they show a hint of proven talent, a Texas or Ohio State...

Can We Forget The ACC Fantasy?

Not having a feeder school system like UNC hits our admission and drop rates so hard it's got to be responsible for 50-100 points easy. You can "yeah but" the rankings all you want, but they are what they are and people use them. As far as the quality of WVU, I don't think the state being 50th...

A whole week without an expansion thread?

Add whoever we need to in order to keep the conference alive - as long as WVU doesn't sign a GOR or anything else obligating us to stay should another opportunity arise. We need to resist that at every turn....

Really wish we had an atmosphere like VT

I remember getting those "seet downnnnnnn i caint see" requests. I offer to switch places with them, but let them know I'm standing. Usually takes care of it.

Sooners Wire Report: Oklahoma and Texas reach out to SEC about expansion

Talking out of my *** here, but if AAU membership is so prestigious and a prerequisite to B10 membership, why aren't we working toward membership in AAU? Also, Nebraska isn't in it.

    SEC Expanding?

USNews has us ranked at #241. I attended WVU as well as Vanderbilt, UNC-Chapel Hill and New York University and my education at WVU was comparable quality-wise to those. But the bottom line is our ranking sucks in large part because we don't rely on a feeder school system, like UNC does, as...

    SEC Expanding?

Need to check with Hedgeman and see when our SEC invite is arriving. Probably stuck in the fax machine with Tavita Finau's LOI.
